10 Tips Every Traveler Should Know Planning Their Next Miami Trip and Photoshoot

This winter has been chilly, but the heat is coming. South Florida is a popular destination during peak seasons, so plan your trip in advance to secure accommodations, transportation, and a photographer.
Often, people underestimate this tropical state and how the 80 degrees differ from elsewhere. Perfect example, 80 degrees is not the same as 80 degrees elsewhere. The humidity in the air, sweaty skin, and strong sun rays can make it unbearable at certain times of the day. All of these elements don’t do wonders for our skin, hair, and makeup when we are trying to look cute - period.
Top Tips:
The rain lasts 5-10 minutes, then the sun returns. Afternoon showers (after 2 pm) are common in the summertime. The weather changes on the fly so always check the weather.
Hurricane season starts in June. It’s different every year. If possible, plan your photoshoots in the morning before the humidity takes it to another level.
Don’t get your hair straightened or blown out before you arrive. It will last 10 minutes.
If you’re not a fan of the heat, schedule early am or later in the afternoon.
Sunscreen is a must for your melanated skin. Don’t leave home without it. There are plenty of good options for melanin skin. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat to shield yourself from the intense South Florida sun. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, especially if you're spending time outdoors. Do not request a noon shoot. This is the hottest time of day in South Florida starting from 1130-2 pm.
During the summer the beaches are quiet except for holiday weekends. Most locals don’t like to come outside in the extreme temperatures.
People and crowds start around 10-11 am unless you are exercising. This is not an early-to-bed early-to-rise kinda of city.
Reservations. Always make them before you get here especially if you have a large party of people traveling together. South Florida can get crowded during peak seasons, so be prepared for longer wait times at popular attractions and restaurants. Consider making reservations in advance to avoid disappointment.
Drink water and hydrate. Heat stroke is not your friend.
